Dubai is brimming with the festive spirit once again as it celebrates Eid Al Adha this weekend.

Colorful flags, bright multi-colored lights, and lively decorations all over the city greet tourists and residents, exuding a truly joyous holiday vibe all around. The flags offering Eid greetings are strategically placed in Dubai hotspots that include the Dubai Airports Terminals, Sheikh Zayed Road, Gold Souk, Jumeirah, various parks, and all leading malls.

A fireworks displays will also be seen in the city for nine consecutive nights. It will start on October 2 until October 11 at 9 PM over Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim 1, and Kite Beach.

In addition, "Eid in Dubai - Eid Al Adha" is now in full swing. It is a festival organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) which already started last September 25 and will end October 11. The annual event showcases a wide array of shopping and entertainment activities for everyone during the holidays.

Eid Al Adha or the Festival of the Sacrifice is the second of the two religious holidays celebrated by Muslims worldwide every year. The first is the Eid Al Fitr, which is celebrated at the end of the month of Ramadan. Eid Al Adha is considered the Greater Eid, and remembers the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his first born son Ishmael to obey God's command, before God intervened and provided Abraham with a lamb to sacrifice instead.
